Botanical Name: Cananga odorata

Latin name	Cananga odorata var. genuina
Family	Annonaceae
Method of extraction	Steam distillation of flowers. There are four grades of ylang ylang. The top grade (first distillation) is ylang ylang extra which has a superior aroma to grades 1, 2, or 3
Principal Constituents	Linalool, caryophyllene, germacrene D, geranyl acetate, benzyl acetate,benzyl benzoate.
Origin	Native to tropical Asia. Cultivated mostly in Madagascar, Indonesia, Comoro Islands, Reunion and the Philippines.
Aroma	Exotic, heady, sweet, floral, seductive.
Colour	Pale yellow.
