Carrot oil is a macerated oil which is prepared by finely chopping up the carrot and leaving it to steep in vegetable oil. The chosen vegetable oil is usually sunflower and the mixture is macerated for about three weeks and then filtered to produce the carrot oil. It is rich in beta-carotene as well as the vitamins A,B,C,D,E, and F. The oil is a clear orange liquid.
Carrot oil should not be confused with the essential oil of carrot which should never be used undiluted as base oil.

beneficial for dry skin.
Carrot oil would not usually be used on its own 100 per cent but is added in up to a 10 per cent dilution.
